Who are Appeer?

Appeer Community Interest Company was set up to benefit girls and women with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and those around them, including their families and professionals.  We primarily support families from Surrey and surrounding areas, although our online Sessions are available for any parent/carer of an autistic daughter to book.  We are called Appeer because we facilitate our Sessions and Groups through a positive peer approach, where our community can recognise and connect with peers through shared activities and peer support.

Am I eligible?

Our current programmes have been designed to support those who are suspected or diagnosed as being autistic, whether or not they also have other neurodiverse conditions, and who identify as girls and women and/or those assigned female at birth who many be gender questioning and/or non-binary.  You may believe you or your daughter is autistic, you may be on the pathway to an assessment for autism or you have already have a diagnosis of autism.  Other criteria also apply.  Before applying, please read our Admissions Policy to learn more about who we are able to support.  You will find this and other information here.

How do I book a Session?

We normally ask you to complete our online application form before you can book a Session with us.  We are currently oversubscribed and unable to accept any more applications for our Online Sessions, Monthly Girls or Monthly Teen Groups as we are at capacity.  We will look to re-open registrations after Easter 2024.  Please click here if you would like to be notified when registrations re-open.

For any Alternative Provision registrations, please email cathryn@appeer.org.uk

For any Women's Group registrations, please email claire@appeer.org.uk

What are the costs?

All our Sessions are charged at a subsidised rate due to our funding from charitable organisations and The National Lottery Community Fund.  We can offer concessionary rates for those who may face financial barriers (e.g. are in receipt of Pupil Premium, Universal credit, or a low income household).

How do I stay in touch?

We send out regular newsletters, flyers and emails to our community.  Once you are registered and have attended a Session we will contact you with news of upcoming Groups, Sessions and Programmes which will be appropriate for you. In the meantime you can sign up for our Newsletter and What's On Flyer here.
