Independent Support and Advice

Teens and Young Adults

Support for Siblings

The Young Carers Futures Hub is a place for young carers (16-25) to go for information, support and  practical help in finding the right future career.  They offer employability workshops, skills sessions, career insight days, youth voices roundtables, work experience, internships, apprenticeships, employment opportunities and more!

Sibs exists to support people who grow up with or have grown up with a disabled brother or sister. It is the only UK charity representing the needs of over half a million young siblings and over one and a half million adult siblings.

Pathological Demand Avoidance

PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) is widely understood to be a profile on the autism spectrum, involving the avoidance of everyday demands and the use of ‘social’ strategies as part of this avoidance. PDA individuals share autistic characteristics and also have many of the ‘key features’ of a PDA profile.  The PDA Society has a wealth of information on their website.  Here is a very useful infographic which you may find useful as a starting point.  pdasociety.org.uk
